We went to the tree farm yesterday and cut down our tree; we've always had a live one in the house. It was a good day although a little sad because my daughter wasn't with me for the first time; but good because my son's girlfriend was there and we had fun. I read a quote from Robert Frost that stated, "Life goes on". Well, yes it does.
This led me to thinking about a country western song I heard on the radio Saturday. A man was drinking at the bar because he had lost his job, bills were unpaid, and his wife was expecting their fourth child. The man's friend told him he didn't mean to be insensitive, but life happens and suck it up and go on.
On Sunday, I read in the paper that the state of Georgia is still 39 million dollars short on the education budget. They have to cut it by this June; which will entail layoffs, more furlough days, and very large classes. Isn't that nice? I think the Lord is leading me into a new direction; but more on that later.
Friday at the end of the day, I got caught up in a big gossip fest; willingly I might add. Afterwards, it reminded me of how chickens behave when you scatter corn in front of them. I heard the Spirit telling me to walk away; but my flesh was having way too much fun. Then on Saturday morning this is the verse I was greeted with:
In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness, and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned. Titus 2:7-8
Uh-did you catch that phrase, soundness of speech? I couldn't believe it! Yes, amends will be made and I am very grateful for a God who has Grace that never stops flowing on me.
Now I'm thinking I will hit the dreadmill, as one blogger put it! If you come across my post today-hit me with a comment--let's me know you are there!

Thanks Vickie! I really needed that verse...I found myself in a gossip fest not too long ago and had to make amends. God's grace IS neverending and I'm so grateful.
Thanks for your comment Susan; can't wait to see you on the 18th!
I have wanted a live tree for so many years, my husband keeps saying "next year"....this year I had him put it in writing :-)
I always find it amazing that signs appear just when I need them most. Glad you have such strong faith.
Oh, sounds like you're busted! I would be looking over my shoulder the next time I'm doing anything even remotely like gossiping...
So very, very true!
Yes, those gossip verses are everywhere--pretty much can't be avoided. But I sure get caught up in it too occasionally! I enjoy reading your thoughts!
