"You can't rule the world, but you can control your piece of it". By Susan Sulich
I read this article in the January's issue of Woman's Day and thought I would share a few tidbits from it. The article dealt with ten things you could change in your life; I only want to share two of them.
#1 Your Daily Environment
If each day feels like the same old grind, it's time to sweat the small stuff. Probably 80% of what we do every day is routine said Mark Stibich, PhD, longevity expert (who knew?) at About.com. Before you know it, you're stuck in a rut--not just in what you do, but what you see, the things you use. So choose something you spend a lot of time doing daily and give yourself an upgrade. Dr. Stibich also suggests periodically going on a "negative energy scavenger hunt" to eliminate something that brings you down. Start at your front door and pay close attention to what makes you frown as you walk in.
#2 How You Spend Your Time
Texting, e-mails, facebook, tv--so many mediums clamor for your attention it's little wonder that you often feel overwhelmed. The first step to changing it is to turn down the noise, says Stephen R. Covey, PhD. Choose to watch less television. Don't feel compelled to open every e-mail the minute you get it. Once you've cut back on the technology stream taking over your life, make some deliberate choices about what is really important to you.
I thought these were good and wanted to share them with you. My daughter graduated from Columbus State University this Tuesday. I'm very proud of her; one down--one to go in May.

I read the same article and it is great advice. I know I was overwhelmed with my email. If I didn't check it every couple of hours, I'd have over 200 emails in one day. Now, I just check twice a day and hit the delete key quite often.
Congratulations to your daughter. :) That is awesome.
Oh, congrats to your daughter! Very exciting!
Wonderful post with some wonderful tips. It's important to do some "mental de-cluttering"....especially this time of year when we can get so stressed.
