Diary of a Traveler

Sunday-June 5th

We arrived in South Carolina after the sun had already begun its travels to the other side (it was dark).  The weekend was a wonderful opportunity to connect with my young grand-nephews--whew!  Private joke here--joking aside we had a good visit.

Here we are in Beckley, West Virginia--having already seen New River Gorge.  It is beautiful--West Virginia is beautiful--we want to live here.  All I can say is this has been fun so far and I am really looking forward to going down the coal mine tomorrow.  --------- Those are my backspaces I was going to write about some negative things.  Example:  bad supper, eye infection, feeling queasy about staying in a hotel room with massive bedbugs outbreaks in all parts of the world--but I decided not to.

Sorry J--we should have eaten at the place but when he heard arts & crafts--that was the end.  But we are travelers and willing to take risks of the unknown.  Plus I have four gallon size bags filled with my popcorn I made at home for the trip.  High in fiber with some nutritional value thrown in.

And we did look up this hotel in the national bedbug registry--it wasn't on the list!  This hotel has a popcorn machine in the lobby--complete with bags.  I've already had some of their delicious coffee from the coffee bar; my husband had a cookie so we are set.  Plus he was able to get the senior discount--I knew marrying someone a lot.....older than myself would pay off in the long run.

Well.....I need to rest.  It will be a busy day tomorrow.
