Make a Choice

In Deuteronomy 30:19, God says, "I have set before you life and death, the blessings and the curses; therefore choose life."  He gives us options, but He wants us to do the choosing.  A choice often means we can go the easy way or hard way.  We can go the way we feel like going or we can go the way we know is right.  To make a right and a wise choice means we will probably have to discipline ourselves to do something we don't feel like doing, but know its best.

God encourages His children to walk in the Spirit and the way we do that is by choosing to do what is right even if it doesn't feel good.  If we know to do right and don't do it, it is sin. James 4:17  I realize now more than ever that making right choices is the key to a happy life, and keeping our minds on right things is another one.  Don't let your mind wander around and do whatever it pleases.  Remember, you have a spirit of discipline and self-control.  You have been given a sound mind.  (Joyce Meyers-Power Thoughts)

Making right choices is the key to a happy life--in all areas; spiritually, mentally, and physically.  I always get a kick this time of year with all of the fitness articles in the magazines.  You go all year making bad choices and then "poof" the magical day arrives--January first, and you are granted a "do-over" to try again.  What they don't tell you is that everyday is a "new" day with God.

His compassions fail not.  They are new every morning, Great is your faithfulness.  Lamentations 3:22-23

God grants us the grace to fail and get back up to try again.  If we have to do it fifty times a day--that's okay.  There isn't a cut-off time or a limit of His Grace when we are seeking His will.

That grabbed my attention. It's interesting that so many blogs I visited today are talking on the topic of choice, and right decisions, etc. Guess it's all the temptations during the holidays to let it go til that magical Jan 1st, like you said... so maybe people are being tempted to just say phooey right now, I'll start again then.

It IS a temptation to think like that... I was even looking at my sidebar where the little countdown says only 9 more days till the end of the year, the end of the challenge. So I was hit with the thought oh well, why start up a big renewed effort NOW?

Uh huh... like she said, keeping our minds on right things. I appreciate the reminder!
