It started out as a favor to a friend.
"Please be my neighbor, I need a few more and then I can expand my farm."
"No, this is silly--I'm a grown woman--you're a grown woman--we don't play virtual games."
I relented, with the intentions of plowing a few plots just to satisfy her and then stopping. So I started and soon my few plots turned into a money making venture (virtual money)! I was filling up my facebook wall with pleadings to my friends to join me in this great outdoor adventure--imploring them to be a neighbor!
Soon my world consisted of buying and harvesting crops (still virtual), visiting my neighbors, and getting gifts in my gift box. Everyday was Christmas! Then it happened--only a few more neighbors and I would be the proud owner of a 26 x 26 farm expansion. I was on a quest--but nobody was honoring my repeated e-mail notifications that I wanted them to be my neighbor.
So a plan formed in my brain (virtual by now) and I decided that I would become different people. Aliases of a sort and join facebook; then I would become my own neighbors. It was a master plan--pretty soon I had developed ten different personalities. I was spending hours--no days on the computer, keeping up with all of my identities and sending myself tons of gifts, racking up the cash and my levels were soaring!
One day a knock was heard (between visiting my neighbors) and I answered it.
"Excuse me miss, we are with the Farmville Federal Department of Stopping People from Scamming. Are you ****?"
"Why, yes I am. But I don't understand, what's going on? Why do you have the handcuffs out, who are all of those officers waiting in my driveway?"
"We have discovered that you have been "scamming" in Farmville and have taken different identities in order to rack up virtual cash. I'm afraid that is an offense under Federal Farmville Law #506cow and you are under arrest. I suggest that you pack a bag, it will be a long stay."
"Nooooooo, I didn't mean to! It was just a favor to a friend--I lost control!"
"Honey--honey, wake up! I think you were having a bad dream."
"What--oh thank goodness it was only a dream!"
