How is that for a title?
Somnambulistic - trance-like state
I'm reading this really good book called "Drood" by Dan Simons and it's set in the 18th century. Charles Dickens is the main character in this mystery. It's over 1000 pages long and I've already renewed it twice--so time is ticking. I'm reading every chance I get. Back to my original point of the title - this word was in the story. What a fantastic word and one that I intend to use for decoding practice tomorrow.
Today I was thinking about this word and how it could apply to our Christian life if we are not careful. The sermon today was based on this verse:
Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. Hebrews 2:1
Our pastor said that when things happen to us in this life, we need to look heavenward and not react the way our emotions want us to. Our first reaction as Christians when things happen-should be on our knees praying and committing to God the situation that we are facing.
It's been an awesome day today; my daughter came over for lunch and we spent the whole day together. The weather was sunny and near 70--you couldn't ask for anything better. I'm so very grateful for blessings that come-when you least expect them.
