I like the Sunday posts because I can talk about nothing--that makes any sense that is. It's freezing here this morning, we are not used to this kind of cold. I grew up in Ohio, so I know what below zero feels like. I teach four year olds in Sunday School and I can usually gage how many kids will be there according to the weather. Funny how the external determines the strength of our commitments.
Speaking of commitments; I've been out of my exercise routine for two weeks now. Don't ask me why--it started with being sick and sort of went downhill from there. I read several weight-loss blogs (which are on my page) and they really give some good advice and tons of motivation. I am starting back--my mental health depends on it--literally.
I watched an old movie yesterday--a couple were in Egypt uncovering tombs and treasures. The movie was made in 1954--the actress wore a white blouse and skirt during the majority of the movie. It never got dirty-the movie was in color. This lady was always falling off her camel and rolling around on the desert. Causing the man to have to get off his camel and pick her up, pleading with her to keep going. I lost track of how many times she started crying--and her blouse never got dirty! Amazing!
I picked up some Canadian Bacon to try and eat healthier for breakfast. When I got home I noticed what it said on the front of the package:
Canadian Bacon With Natural Juices
then in smaller print: made from pork sirloin hips--chunked--formed--
In the words of my students "ew", I don't think I can eat this, I can't get past the pork sirloin hips, chunked & formed. Reading the back of this package, I discovered it was made in Lansing, IL. So why are they calling it Canadian bacon? And in finer print it said once opened, use within seven days! Or what? What will happen on the eighth day of nonuse? Sorry, it has to go-in the trash!
Time to get ready and brave the cold. Work starts tomorrow, so I will back on schedule. I really do better on a strict schedule and after this post I'm sure you will agree.

I'm glad to hear you are starting up your exercise routine. I always feel better when doing it regularly. In fact, that is why I signed up again for another Challenge, just to give me that nudge to stay consistent.
We are all different, and it might not be your cup o' tea, but if you think it would be fun and helpful, you are sure welcome to join the Perfect 10 Challenge. It's not about being "perfect" (personally, I would have preferred a different name to that challenge, ha ha) but about aiming for your goals, and seeing how close you can come.
If you are at all interested, just click on the pic in my sidebar. Steve is a nice guy, and a Christian. There's even a drawing at the end for a prize, LOL!
But really, the prize for me comes from being consistent. Yesterday, I sooo didn't want to exercise. But... I had made that commitment, so I did. AFterwards, of course, I was glad I did. It's always that way! :-)
Have a Beautiful Sunday,
Loretta

Hmmmm... Canadian bacon shouldn't be chunked and formed. Ewwww....
We get ours locally (it's the style that's Canadian, not from there) and it is lean and tasty!
Canadian bacon that's made in Illinois? Are they kidding with this? Let's send them an irritating email and ask 'em a few questions....
Yeah that doesn't sound very appetizing!
