abyss - deep fissure in the earth - bottomless gulf: chasm
You can't tell I love the dictionary can you? I was thinking of this word during the week and how at times it feels like I have fallen into one - an abyss. If you read my earlier post on the gossip fest; it really went downhill from there. I have struggled with my tongue all week, same person, I just couldn't seem to close-my-mouth.
Why does it seem we are falling at times? Or am I the only one who feels they are on firm ground, just to have the earth open wide and fall in? This is too deep even for me!
Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, And He shall hear my voice. Psalm 55:17
Ah, therein lies the problem this week, I really haven't spent the time I needed in prayer. Now when did God advise us to pray? Evening-Morning-and Noon? I'm only an early childhood educator; but that seems to be the entire day. To keep the earth from opening to begin with, pray consistently. But if you do happen to trip and take the plunge into the abyss--cry aloud, God promises He will always be there for us--catching when we fall, picking up when we stumble, and pouring His Grace upon us always.

Just a few years ago, God gave me this as my "life verse" for this part of my journey:
"Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstance."
So, as you might guess, I have thought a LOT about how in the world one can possibly "pray continually"! I have made progress on the answer... and it just makes me love Him more.
I loved this post. Nope, you are not the only one!

Sometimes that abyss is a really scary thing....
One thing seems to meld right into the other and before you know it, you're free falling....
That's when it's time to shut down and reboot....otherwise, it just seems to keep spiraling..
