One of the many questions that tend to roam around in my thoughts. This great musing came about several days ago as I was walking around the track. Sometimes after work I will walk a couple of miles before I go home. I'm walking and thinking of fried meatloaf sandwiches and potatoes. (You thought it was a great spiritual insight) That thought dictated my stride and I was finished with an awesome time-I set a record! Is it normal to think about fat-laden foods while you are exercising to get in shape?
I think about the weather--a lot. Nothing excites me more than the red weather alert strip that comes across the bottom of the screen. I love when the pressures are changing and storms are coming (as long as the electricity stays on so I'm not inconvenienced). When the kids were little and a storm was coming, I would grab them up and we would go outside (no lightening) to watch until we had to come in.
Is this normal?
Holidays are coming and I absolutely love the concept of Santa. My mother finally had to tell me "the truth" in sixth grade. I know--what can I say? I felt sad the year we didn't leave presents out under the tree because the kids were too old. I'm almost fifty and yet there is a part of me that "wishes" it could be true.
Is this normal?
normal- conforming with an accepted standard, model, or pattern; corresponding to the average of a large group in type, appearance, achievement, function, and development - Webster's New World Dictionary (3rd Edition)
O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. (Psalm 139 1-3) I encourage you to read the complete chapter of this Psalm. The sub-title in my Bible calls this chapter God's Perfect Knowledge of Man.
Let's not get so caught up in the "norm" that we forget to celebrate the wonderfulness of who we are.
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; (Psalm 139:14)

I love this post. I think about fat laden food as I walk in the park, I also still to some extent believe in the magic of santa claus. I love Christmas.
I get inspired while driving and then write my ideas or words on little pieces of paper as I travel down the road. Is that normal?
In this day and age of texting while driving; I would say it was normal! ha-ha
Hey, I like your thoughts! I also believed in Santa Claus until at least 6th grade--didn't want to stop! I think my little sister told me he was make believe LOL!
Now I am old and serious (heh heh) and the commercialism and elimination of Christ from Christmas absolutely makes me nuts. But I guess that's not Santa's fault...
Great post!
Hey-whatever helps you get thru that workout...fat-laden food or that martini...you do what you have to do!
Love Christmas....just have issues with the season and the "s" stuff.
When the kids were little, we'd sit on lawn chairs inside the garage with the door open and watch the lightening...don't know if that's normal or not, but it was FUN.
