Cliff Notes: King Nebuchadnezzar wanted everyone to bow down to him. Daniel and his friends refused. So the King said he was going to throw them into a fiery furnace that he had heated seven times hotter. He did and they did not burn up; but an angel stayed inside the furnace with them. God delivered Daniel.
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to the king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up." Daniel 3:16-18
These verses caught my attention this morning; I've read them hundreds of times and have lost count of the times I've told this story. These men were in a real dilemma; their lives were at stake. Some of the key words that I noticed were "God is able to save us from it--but even if he does not" Their circumstances didn't affect their faith. They realized that God is able to do anything; but He chooses what He provides.
Sometimes I forget that God is able to "save us"; my circumstances seem so large to me at times. I lose sight of the fact that nothing is impossible with God. Satan loves to keep our faith in tunnel vision mode. We can get wrapped up in what is in front of us that we lose sight of the big picture. I was comforted and reminded this morning of God's Grace. To put it in modern vernacular: God has my back--always!
Thanks for the comments; they feed my ego and keep me going! I'm enjoying your blogs and welcome the extra dimension it gives my life.

Well, I enjoy reading here as well, sweetie.
I think it's human nature to get caught up in what you think to be important at that moment...and it's not until something else happens that makes you snap out of it before you can realize how trivial some of our complaining really is!
Great post!
