Then Tuesday I thought about it again and actually called the bookstore. I told her what I did and she asked if I clicked the go button. No, I did not---so I tried again and ordered my books. Which they arrived today--all four of them on subjects I know absolutely nothing about. But in a strange, sadistic sort of way-I'm excited.
School is going full force; it feels like we have been in session for months. This committee that I'm chairperson of is huge...it's going to be some kind of year. Now I've been placed in a type of administrative mode so this will be interesting. My favorite part of the day is when I'm in charge of dismissal; so I sit in Mr. M's office and announce over the intercom when everyone gets to leave.
Speaking of intercoms; they remind me of stores. Which reminds me that I've always wanted to work at a grocery store. There is something about sliding the food over the bar--hearing the cling--and then getting to organize all of the groceries in a bag. So maybe if I hang around and retire from teaching at 70--I can get a job at Publix. They like to hire older people.
