But school ends in a week and my exercise routine can get a needed boost. I will not have to rush out to work by 7:15 a.m. -- I plan on hitting the track by 6:30 a.m. in the mornings. I've tried the treadmill off and on--but I really think outside is best for me. I also have several dvd sets that I've ordered for exercise and now I can work them into my summer schedule.
I enjoyed the knitting class and was making great progress on a scarf--until I dropped a stitch. Feeling brave I decided I could gingerly pull out a few rows and redo. Not going to happen--you have to thread the loops very carefully back onto your needle--which I did--but I think it's backward. You Tube is trying to help me at this point--so we will see.
I have an appointment with my family doctor to schedule some blood work. Since I'm mid-way through my life (yes, I intend to hit 100) thought it would be good to have some things checked.
I received Bose Headphones from my husband for Mother's Day (greatest gift ever) and have really enjoyed listening to my Joyce Meyer's cds through them. Listening to something this morning and she reminded me that those listening to her were not to substitute their own work in studying the scriptures by listening to her messages.
I also received Joy of Cooking (great gift from daughter & son-in-law) and made one recipe already. I watch this show on OWN where two ladies take a cookbook and make recipes from it then critique it. This was one of their favorites and said every kitchen should have one--which I do. Did I mention I'm a prime target for marketing?
Still trying to get things moving for my media degree--CSU will not send my test scores to West Georgia--so I wrote a nice letter. We will see--this really will have to be a door the Lord Himself opens for this fall.
My husband and I are actually planning a vacation for June--regardless of gas prices. Life is too short--even if I live to 100! We are so excited--what are you thinking? Hawaii, Bermuda, or some exquisite spa vacation? No, we found a place in West Virgina where you get in a coal car and they take you 1500 feet below the earth to a coal mine. I am so excited--I'm beside myself!
We will end up in Ohio and I will stay with my parents for two weeks. First time it will be just us--no visiting my grandfather or attending a funeral. Bittersweet--but everything comes full circle.
Great verse this morning that I'm committing to memory--speak the Word out-loud when things are troubling you.
Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10
I do have fears--knowing I've been picked to live in this time when the world is not warm and cozy. But filled with wars, strife, and just plain evil. There are no mistakes with God's timing so we can have confidence of our purpose through Christ in the time we have been placed.
I have disappointments--life doesn't go the way I want sometimes; which is usually the easy road. I need to remember that God is the Author of all and He is Mine.
I am weak-weak-weak--which is natural because I am flesh. God's Grace is like a well that never runs dry--but I have to be the one to draw from it.
Actually in rereading this post--it reminds me of a Christmas letter that some people send. I'll have to give those letters I receive a little more grace--this was therapeutic!
