Pot Stirrer

Couple days ago I walked into the teacher workroom; several ladies were calmly--let me repeat--calmly having a discussion.  The atmosphere in the room was calm--again I repeat--calm; kind of soothing.  Being the container of hodge-podge news that I am; I decided to "stir" things up a bit.

"Did you read in the paper that several members of the school board took a trip to California; spending twelve thousand dollars?"  Wait for it...........

"WHAT!!!!!!  I CAN'T BELIEVE IT; TAKING OUR MONEY AND WASTING IT ON A TRIP!!!"

By this time everyone in the room was chiming in---loudly; leading up into another discussion of wasted monies and poor leadership.  This year they have decided to take away ten days of our pay---ten and reduce the student's days to 175 in lieu of 180.  I make less money now than when I started.  Next year they are doing away with paying extra for advance degrees.

So I knew this was going to be a hot topic when I brought it up.  I slipped out of the room because--well it wasn't soothing anymore.  Everyone was upset.  As I'm walking back to my room I heard it....

"You are a pot stirrer."

"What?" Knowing full well the Spirit was  taking me to task.

"Everyone was fine and you knowingly went in to stir everyone up.  That was wrong."

Ouch!  Since then whenever I feel the urge to get things going; a thought goes through my mind:
"Don't be a pot stirrer."

That's something that I appreciate about the Lord so much... that He is my teacher, guide, instructor, corrector... And even when I go "ouch!" I know He is doing it in Love. That's just the way He is... :-)
