Whatever you hold in your mind will tend to occur in your life. If you continue to believe as you have always believed, you will continue to act as you have always acted. If you continue to act as you have always acted, you will continue to get what you have always gotten. If you want different results in your life or work, all you have to do is change your mind. One of my favorite sayings is, "Where the mind goes, the man follows." I wholeheartedly believe our thoughts lead us, charting the course for our lives and pointing us in certain directions that ultimately determine our destinations in life. Our thoughts cause us to have certain attitudes and perspectives; they affect our relationships; they determine how productive we will be personally and professionally; and they greatly influence the overall quality of our lives. We must understand the power of thoughts!
The battle in our minds will continue until our earthly lives are complete. We will never become so spiritual that the enemy decides to stop harassing us, but we can become stronger and stronger against him as we grow in our relationship with God and in understanding His word. We can learn to live in greater measures of power and authority over the enemy, which will result in greater abilities to enjoy our lives, receive God's blessings, and fulfill the good plans He has for us.
Your mind can be a junkyard or a treasure chest, you have the ability to choose what it will be.
(Joyce Meyer)
I'm not a positive person by nature and during my self-imposed exile, I actually had an out of body experience. No--drugs were not involved! I was running my mouth and was made aware of how much negativity was spewing (yes--spewing) out of it. I felt like I was hovering above myself and watching as it was happening. Oh, did I mention it was early in the morning---to wake up in that frame of mind tells you there must be a problem.
Immediately I rushed to the yellow pages--trying to find a support group for NTS (Negative Thoughts Syndrome) but to no avail. AAA thought I was crazy and advised me to immediately leave the liquor store--they couldn't believe I was not drinking at the time. Then it struck me that the cure for this would have to come from work on my part and allowing the Lord to do His pruning which I know will involve some pain.
As I read things from this book that speak to me, I write them down in a journal and will share with you. I do recommend this book--Joyce is speaking from experience.
Three miles on the treadmill this morning; the thought actually went through my head that I should post my weight on the blog. Get rid of pride and baggage and share--but no, that's for another book I'm sure.

What a powerful image!
I've strongly believed this about the power of our thoughts for years... yet somehow keep needing to be reminded. I just shake my head sometimes at the thoughts I discover rumbling around in my head!
"The battle in our minds will continue until our earthly lives are complete."
I guess I somehow thought I would finally get good at this, and not have the battle any longer. Wishful thinking, I suppose.
Thank you for a terrific reminder... I really needed it... yet again!
