The way we think affects the way we speak, and the way we speak affects the way others respond to us. Don't let someone else's limited thinking limit you. Negativity can be contagious; you have to pay attention if you don't want to catch it! Remember, negative attitudes produce negative responses while positive attitudes encourage positive responses.
In the story about Joshua and Caleb, this was certainly true. After the ten spies gave their negative report, the Israelites wept all night and became discouraged. (Numbers 14:1) Those ten men and their bad attitudes caused an entire nation to lose heart and doubt God's promises. Then, the Israelites became so negative that they wanted to stone Joshua and Caleb, who were positive (Numbers 14:10).
Similarly, the enemy, often working through other people, likes to silence people with faith-filled, can-do attitudes. Don't let anyone silence you. Learn to get positive and stay positive in every way. Learn to be aware of the way you think and the way you talk to people. Train your mind to think positively toward every situation and train your tongue to speak positively to everyone you meet. (Joyce Meyer-Power Thoughts)
I can identify with Joyce--notice the words learn & train--these words are sprinkled through-out her book. I'm probably the one satan uses to bring others down; so I have to develop a new mind-set. Awareness to me is half the battle.
Some balls you want to drop!

Oh my goodness, this was the PERFECT post for me today. I've been quiet lately, doing a lot of thinking, and then noticing how I am affected when I read certain blogs.
And I have to admit, it's been bothering me lately all the angst and fear mongering around the holidays. Like people are setting themselves up for failure, making a big anxious drama.
So, I stopped reading those! And I feel back to "normal". I know it might sound selfish... but all that drama gets old after awhile, and what you quoted here in this post is so true... attitudes are contagious.
I know people have to work through wherever they are at, and have the freedom to post whatever they need to on their own blog... I just have to be careful not to go backwards! Progress is hard won, and boy, do I value it! LOL!
Thanks for a wonderful post.
