Trust Equals Satisfaction

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.
Jeremiah 27:7

Concerning the abundant satisfaction which those have, and will have, who make God their confidence, who live by faith in His providence and promise, who refer themselves to Him and His guidance at all times and repose themselves in Him and His love in the most unquiet times.

The duty required of us-to trust in the Lord, to do our duty to Him and then depend upon Him to bear us out in doing it--when creatures and second causes either deceive or threaten us, either are false to us or fierce against us, to commit ourselves to God as all-sufficient both to fill up the place of those who fail us and to protect us from those set upon us. It is to make the Lord our hope, His favour the good we hope for and His power the strength we hope in. (Matthew Henry)

repose- to place trust in

The flesh is strong; which makes putting your complete trust in the Lord hard at times. The verse sounds easy--trust in the Lord--but it's not. This is what we strive for in our walk with Christ and there are so many blessings for those who make a conscious decision to place their trust in God.

Looking Glass: The graduation was last night; and it's been a long time since I have seen the midnight hour! The song "Circle of Life" keeps going through my head this morning. My parents became Christians when I was growing up and they started a new circle of life. We became believers of Christ and married spouses who are believers. Our children have become believers and the circle continues. Crazy thoughts as I look upon our family--wondering how God is going to use them and praying they will be vessels to be used and simply not containers that hold.

Just what I needed to read this morning after going to court this morning and getting granted guardianship over our 2 grandchildren. So bittersweet, but I will trust.
Great post. Thank you!

I really like that image of us as vessels... He fills us up, and then we are poured out to bless others. And yet, even as it flows out to others, we are touched by it, too, as it flows out.
