And David went up from thence, and dwelt in strong holds at En-gedi.
1 Samuel 23:29
David, having thus escaped, took shelter in some natural fortresses, which he found in the wilderness of En-gedi. And this Dr. Lightfoot thinks was the wilderness of Judah, in which David was when he penned Psalm lxiii, which breathes as much pious and devout affection as almost any of his Psalms: for in all places and in all conditions he still kept up his communion with God. (Matthew Henry)
In all places and in all conditions--that is what spoke to my heart with this verse. Just as God is a constant, we are to be constant in our devotion to Him. Circumstances shouldn't dictate how much we invest in our relationship with Christ.
Our church last night had a Sedar meal that was led by a Rabbi, who was converted to Christ. It was very meaningful to me to be able to participate in the rituals of the Jews during this Holy week. The Rabbi has strong ties to Israel and mentioned that when countries turn against Israel; disasters happen. He said that O'Bama slighted Israel by the way he treated Benjamin Netanyaho during the meeting. O'Bama left him to eat by himself after the meeting was over; saying he had other things to attend to.
We need to support Israel, because they are God's chosen people. We, as Christians, are also God's people, but the Rabbi referred to us as a people without a nation, who will always be by Israel's side.

God has been so gracious and comforting to me lately... and just this morning I saw a direct, obvious answer to a thing I had prayed about.
Yet, I let myself get too busy and distracted, and shortchange my time with Him and His word. Circumstances...
This is a good word... thank you.
