I woke up a little late this morning (4:20 a.m.) and should be on the treadmill-now-as I'm sitting here. Life is good when the first thing I can reach for is a cup of coffee that is already perked! I'm reading several things out of the Bible; finishing up my Beth Moore series and reading through Judges at this time. Poor Samson; reading how fulfilling his lusts led to the downfall of his life. It's not what God had planned; but we make our own choices.
Then I looked around at my Christmas decorations and realized I have a lot of my grandmother around me. She was big into ceramics and I think I have everything she made. She passed away several years ago and I miss her very much. But if all the physical evidences of her life were taken from me; I can still close my eyes and bring her close by remembering.
That led me to thinking about nuns and the spartan rooms they sleep in. (I told you to fasten yours seatbelts) That sounds good to me right now; just a bed--nothing else. I'm craving simplicity and I understand why people downsize as they get older.
Ebay-all of that led me to think about selling a lot of what I have on Ebay. I could become rich and simplify at the same time.
I was with my daughter last night in the hospital room and watching her tend to Mr. Thomas reminded me of what our lives are all about. Serving God and others before ourselves. This brought me to one of my favorite verses (you knew a verse was coming at some point).
And now, Israel, what doth the Lord thy God require of thee, but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk in all His ways, and to love Him, and to serve the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul. Deuteronomy 10:12

My hubby has tons of Christmas decorations from his grandmother too. I don't know that he could get rid of them very easily. Don't worry about your follower list! :) The more you comment around on other people's blogs the more visible you will become and you will get more followers. I promise!
I see you have 5! FIVE! (I was ready to see if I could double-dip, but no such luck!)
