ramble - to talk or write aimlessly, without connection of ideas (Webster's 3rd Ed)
I have twelve boxes of Cheerios in my pantry downstairs. Yes, you read correctly - twelve. I also have nine large packs of toilet paper - in my pantry - downstairs. They have been on sale and I have had coupons for every purchase. I'm not connecting any ideas because this is "Sunday Ramblings" but I think it has something to do with the thrill I get at yard sales. The "hunt" and the tingling sensation when an item (somebody's trash) becomes your most treasured possession in the world.
I ordered pizza the other day and noticed on the coupon that for $9.99 I could get a large cheese and two item pizza. The word cheese caught my eye. Really? They are going to include cheese on the pizza? I started looking at all of the pizza coupons and every single one of them includes cheese--on the coupon. It was like they were doing the consumer a favor by including cheese-on the pizza!
Shout out to all of the baby cows in the world! I was trying a new meatball recipe and it called for 1/2 lb. ground veal, 1/2 lb. ground pork, and 1/2 lb. ground chuck. I wasn't really aware of veal and when I asked the butcher where the grounded up veal was; the store lights dimmed and there was a hush in the air. He looked at me and sort of whispered that we don't carry that here. I said okay, what would be comparable to veal? Ground chuck was the reply. The lights came back on and noise resumed in the meat department. The meatballs were delicious-without causing injury to a calf-somewhere in the world.
Ah, this was nice! I keep these things bottled up inside; I try not to share too much. It's not worth the looks-which me nervous!

Ah yes....the "meatloaf combo" meat selection...my dad swears by it. And somehow, you managed to save some livestock in the process!
I've never noticed that about the cheese...but I will now! Isn't it odd how they do things like that? Maybe it's just to take up space on the coupon...you're right...they want us to think we're getting something extra...so bizarre.
