"If I am what I have, and if I lose what I have, who then am I?"
Erich Fromm - American psychologist (1900-1980)
I know the answer to this! I have endured several psychology classes in which I thought I knew the answer; but it never was the one the professor wanted. Sort of like the admission test to get into a graduate program; the answer is very clear but it's not one of the choices.
For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost? Luke 9:25
The past few Sundays our pastor has preached on this very subject. Don't get your self-worth through anything but Christ. If your identify is through Christ; then you will never have to question the essence of "you".
That's it; short one today. I really hadn't planned on writing this morning; time is a commodity when I work. But I was so excited to see a flag from Ireland on my neo-counter! Hello to my international friend in cyber-space! I know, most bloggers have a tiny visitor counter and mine is reflecting my ego at this time. I have it set for a twenty-four hour cycle; and most of the numbers are mine. I can't resist opening up my own blog and every time I do, I get a number!
What can I say; I work with first graders all day. Things like this excite me!
Have a great day; mine is already starting off good.
