Less is More

Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the the throne and to the Lamb! Revelations 7:10

Recognizing that salvation belongs to Christ helps to get us out of ourselves. Simply stated, "it's not about us." Sometimes we get so wrapped up in ourselves that we become the center of our own universe. Salvation is His. It's about Him. Following Christ breaks the stranglehold of self in our lives as He becomes the center of our universe. We decrease; He increases. (He must increase, but I must decrease. John 3:30). Joy results. Reminds me of the old science fiction movies where a person has a "shield" around them. This is what I do to myself at times, place a "shield" around me and suddenly my world becomes very small--self centered. When I allow Christ to fill my world, it becomes bigger (and better). This verse was from last week's study. This week she is talking about peace--I'm excited; I know something will be revealed to me.

I will share this from last week; as I was shuffling along outside one morning, the thought crossed through my mind that this is hard. I was thinking about my walk with Christ and how hard it seems for me to be consistent. Immediately the Spirit put me in my place with a counter thought of "Really, you consider this to be hard? Are you being persecuted for your faith? Are you going without food, shelter, or employment? Are you battling sickness?"

Our creator knows how easily we can become full of ourselves; thank goodness for His Grace.
